September 2026
- Due to ongoing road construction near Town Hall, traffic patterns have shifted. All vehicles accessing the Town Campus are now being routed behind Fire Station One. This area functions as both an active workspace for staff and a public access point, so drivers are asked to remain alert, reduce speed, and proceed with caution.
- Site, foundations and infrastructure work for the multi-family housing and parking deck project surrounding the library is ongoing.
- Foundation work for the future trash building and seat walls around the Town Green is ongoing.
- Demolition and utility work on Carolina Street is ongoing.

Progress continues at Town Center, with crews currently installing the primary electrical feeds for the project. This electrical work will tie into an existing transformer to provide power to the site.
-
Temporary soil‑erosion control measures are in place to prevent runoff to neighboring properties. Elliptical drainage pipes are stored on site for upcoming underground infrastructure work.
-
The library remains fully open during all construction activities. If the library’s main lot is full, additional temporary parking is available.
-
Carolina Street is currently closed between Town Hall Drive and Fox Drive; drivers should follow posted detours.
May 2026

Progress continues on the multifamily and parking deck project, including foundation work and initial wall construction. This area will ultimately house new apartment units and the adjacent parking deck next to the library.
-
Initial utility work for Town Center is underway, including sewer and water service installation, visible through recent asphalt patches. These utilities support the future Town Center.
-
Carolina Street will undergo a full reconstruction. A planned 2–3 month closure of Carolina Street is expected in the coming months to complete streetscape improvements. Upgrades will include wider paving, decorative pavers in the roadway, and enhanced sidewalks from Town Hall Drive to Church Street.
April 2026
- The Town Center contractor will temporarily close portions of Town Hall Drive and Carolina Street from April 1 through April 3 to begin installing new utilities that will support the future Town Center development. Drivers should expect detours in the area and allow extra travel time.
- As of April 1, the right‑turn slip lane from Town Hall Drive onto Carolina Street has been closed permanently. (The slip lane is the right-hand lane heading northwest bound as you approach the roundabout on Town Hall Drive and Carolina that allows you to bypass the roundabout altogether and head northeast on Carolina Street.) This marks the beginning of demolition work to prepare the intersection for future improvements.
- Starting April 4, drivers can still turn from Town Hall toward Carolina Street (northwest to northeast), but they’ll have to go through the roundabout instead of bypassing it. This change matches how traffic moves on the other sides of the intersection and will help slow speeds in the Town Center area.
- Morrisville Community Library visitors will need to park in the new lot at Carolina Street and Foxglove Drive and walk along a marked route to the library entrance. Signs will guide visitors to and from the parking lot.
- Starting April 6, Foxglove Drive from Jeremiah Street to Carolina Street will be closed for 18 months as part of the development and staging required to facilitate construction activities in the area.
- As part of the ongoing Morrisville Town Center utility and infrastructure work, the contractor will temporarily close Carolina Street between Town Hall Drive and Foxglove Drive for about four weeks. The closure is expected to begin on Monday, April 13, weather permitting.
- Construction activities will occur during normal daytime hours, and the road will remain closed throughout the four-week period. No significant noise impacts are anticipated beyond typical construction sounds already common in the area.
