Please join us during your regular Western Wake Farmers' Market visit on April 22 from 8 a.m. to Noon to learn from the experts and enjoy some fun prizes and activities. A passport adventure game will be available for those that visit particular farmers' market vendors and education booths for Earth Day. Gift baskets will be raffled for those who obtain stamps from all stations.
Some of the stations will include:
- Information about native plants, trees, and companion planting (including some fun giveaways)
- A composting and vermiculture demonstration (with live worms on display)
- Information about rain barrels
- A recycling sorting activity with prizes
- Children's activities such as seed bomb making, eco-painting, and worms
The Morrisville Community Library will be also be there to distribute Earth Day-themed book lists and to lead a leaf-rubbing art activity.
Parking
Please park at the farmers' market parking lot (280 Town Hall Drive), the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce (260 Town Hall Drive), or the Indian Creek Trailhead (101 Town Hall Drive). Restrooms are available at the Indian Creek Trailhead. Carpool whenever possible to help reduce our community greenhouse gas emissions.
