The Town of Morrisville encourages resident attendance, participation, and input at the regular Town Council meetings and public hearings.  Within the agendas, meeting packets, and minutes are descriptions of the matters to be considered and the potential legislative action to be taken at the next meeting.

Important information about Public Comment:

1. Public Address is a specific time during regular meetings when public comments may be submitted. Topics related to a public hearing should not be discussed during that time.
2. Public Hearings allow public comment to be submitted on a specific item, at a specific time, and are legally required by state statute.

• Please review the Town Council Meeting Rules of Procedure, “Public Address to the Council” for instructions, rules, and definitions. 
• Anyone who wishes to speak to Public Address and Public Hearing items may sign up in advance of the meeting.
• Sign-up sheets are provided on the scheduled meeting date outside Town Hall Council Chambers from noon until 6 p.m. 
• Speakers will make comments at the standing microphone.

Public comment submissions

Comments for Public Address and Public Hearings may be submitted by email.

1. Public comment for both regular Town Council meetings and Advisory Committee Meetings may be emailed to publiccomment@morrisvillenc.gov.
2. Public comments for regular Town Council meetings or public comment for Planning and Zoning Board Meetings may be emailed to publichearings@morrisvillenc.gov. 

Email submission requirements

• The Morrisville Town Council accepts comments from both residents and non-residents. 
• Comments must be submitted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the scheduled meeting date. 
• Submissions received outside of this time frame, or incomplete submissions (such as not including your address, including city, and stating if you are a Morrisville resident), will be provided to the Town Council via email and summarized during the Town Council Meeting. 

• Incomplete submissions will not be read verbatim during the Town Council Meeting.

Council meetings are open to the public. Social distancing and other health and safety guidelines continue to be encouraged.  

Do not attend a meeting in person if you feel sick, have symptoms, or know or suspect you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, regardless of your vaccination status.
