The Morrisville Fire/Rescue Department welcomes all residents to explore the “behind the scenes” life of firefighters during an open house event on Saturday, May 3rd from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fire Station 1. The public is invited to attend.
"Most individuals will discover some things that are unique, as well as have an opportunity to see what goes on day-to-day in a fire station and how it reflects a typical house environment," said Chief Nathan Lozinsky.
In addition to seeing fire apparatus up close and in person, all areas of Fire Station 1 will be open for viewing. Residents will also have the opportunity to freely interact with members of the fire department and learn valuable fire safety tips. Chief Lozinsky adds, “Anyone can come and explore first-hand how a fire station works and leave with a better understanding of the accompanying sacrifices firefighters experience as part of living at the station 24 hours per shift.”
No reservations or tickets are required to attend the open house event, and all are welcome to drop-in between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. For more information, contact Fire Administration at wgranger@morrisvillenc.gov or call (919) 463-6931.
