Did You Know?
There is a very good chance your neighborhood will be on its own during the early stages following a catastrophic disaster.
After a catastrophic disaster, citizens will want to volunteer to help. Without proper training, these people can expose themselves to potential injury and even death! Experience has shown that basic training in disaster survival and rescue skills improves the ability of citizens to survive until responders or other assistance arrives.
CERT Training
Morrisville Fire/Rescue offers Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training, free of charge! This program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills. Using their training, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.
- Register for online training.
- Complete the online training before the hands-on class (approximately 12 hours).
- Attend both days of the hands-on training. Read what is covered during this training at https://bit.ly/pcertskills
