All specific requirements for signs including, but not limited to, dimensions, the number of signs allowed on a property, and the allowable locations can be found in Section 5.16 of the Unified Development Ordinance. Permits are issued in accordance with the regulations outlined in the ordinance.

To apply for a sign permit, please visit our e-Permits and Applications Customer Self-Service Portal. If you have not previously submitted an application through the online portal, you will need to set up an account first. Please upload all accompanying documents to the portal with your application.

An application fee will be assessed after your application is submitted. You will receive an email when your invoice is ready, and you will need to pay the invoice through the portal. Application fees must be paid before your application will be reviewed. Application fees may vary depending upon the type of sign. Sign permit fees can be found in the Development Fee Schedule.

If you have any questions about the sign permit submittal process, please contact the Planning Department at 919-463-6210.
