The Town of Morrisville was recently awarded a grant through the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Integrated Mobility Division (IMD) to evaluate the preferred alignment and feasibility of the Stirrup Iron Creek and Mills Spring Greenway segments.

The feasibility study is being conducted by the consulting firm VHB. The study will inform the Town on a recommended alignment for the proposed greenway with respect to site conditions, environmental constraints, permits, and partnerships, while also considering potential connections to the existing bicycle and pedestrian network and nearby destinations. It is anticipated that the feasibility study will be a tool to inform the Town’s future Capital Investment Program (CIP) planning and will be used to pursue grants for the construction of the greenway.

The project timeline below provides and overview of the study schedule. Draft materials and public engagement information will be shared as it becomes available over the course of the study.
