The daily morning and evening commute through Morrisville certainly tests the patience of  even the most placid drivers. We all need to get to work, drop off the kids at school, or get to other appointments on time. Most of the time, we don't experience any problems on those commutes. However, at times, there may be someone who is not willing to wait and who drives recklessly and endangers the rest of us. These aggressive drivers commit several traffic offenses in an effort to get to their destination at the risk of crashing or being stopped by the police. They really need to just "chill" out and be patient. That's why we have introduced Chill Morrisville.

How does it work?

Chill Morrisville is a community program designed to reduce traffic crashes by identifying aggressive drivers before they can hurt others.

All those who live and travel through Morrisville are encouraged to participate. If you see someone driving in a reckless manner, call 911 and be prepared to answer some questions about the driver. If available, an officer will be dispatched to stop the car before it leaves the Town limits or reaches its destination in Morrisville. If an officer can't be dispatched in time, you can fill in the driver information on the website and we will send the registered owner a letter, signed by the Chief of Police, concerning the complaint. A warning letter gives the driver the chance to improve their behavior without further intervention from the police department.

By identifying these dangerous drivers - and with the help of citizens like you continuing to engage in safe driving practices - we hope to reduce crashes and get the word out that careless and reckless driving is not an
